From 10 to 11 June 2026, Benta Wawasan Sdn. Bhd. welcomed four (4) industrial training students from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), accompanied by officers from the Kalabakan District Forestry Office. The visit aimed to provide the students with first-hand exposure to sustainable forest management practices and agroforestry operations implemented by the Company.
Throughout the programme, the students attended an introductory session on Benta Wawasan Sdn. Bhd., followed by briefings on daily operations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best management practices, and compliance with MSPO and Sabah TLAS certification requirements.
The students were also taken on field visits to the Tree Nursery, High Conservation Value (HCV) areas, Enrichment Planting Project, and Wildlife Corridor, where they had the opportunity to observe first-hand the Company’s conservation initiatives and sustainable forest management practices.
The programme provided the students with a valuable opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge acquired at their respective universities and its practical application in the field. It also strengthened the strategic collaboration between Benta Wawasan Sdn. Bhd., the Sabah Forestry Department, and institutions of higher learning in developing knowledgeable and skilled graduates who understand the importance of environmental sustainability.
Benta Wawasan Sdn. Bhd. extends its sincere appreciation to the Kalabakan District Forestry Office for its support and cooperation and looks forward to further strengthening this collaboration towards the continued development of a sustainable forestry industry.
