Benta Wawasan Sdn. Bhd. operates in the palm oil industry in Tawau, Sabah, where it began its first planting in 2005. The company reports a planted area of 22,612.48 hectares (updated August 2026), with mature palms averaging between 13 and 21 years of age (as of August 2026). Its plantation operations form part of the Yayasan Sabah Group’s agro-plantation business.
The company’s operations are supported by the Seraya Palm Oil Mill, commissioned in 2014 and located between Seraya Estate and Merbau Estate, with a capacity of 60 tonnes of fresh fruit bunches per hour. Benta Wawasan also operates the Seraya Biogas Plant, launched in 2018, which uses palm oil mill effluent as a source of biogas.
Agathis Estate
Situated in the north-eastern part of BWSB’s Northern Region in Kalabakan, Tawau, Agathis Estate covers a surveyed area of approximately 3,938.19 hectares, with 2,507.27 hectares planted with oil palm. Established progressively between 2008 to 2012, the estate forms an important part of BWSB’s plantation operations.
Belian Estate
Located in the western part of BWSB’s Northern Region in Kalabakan, Tawau, Belian Estate is one of BWSB’s oldest estates. Its development began in 2000 with the planting of Acacia mangium before the area was progressively converted to oil palm in year 2010 to 2013.
Today, the estate covers a surveyed area of approximately 3,459.70 hectares, of which 2,242.42 hectares are planted with oil palm, reflecting its evolution from an early forest plantation into an established part of BWSB’s oil palm operations.
Kapur Estate
Located at the northernmost point of BWSB’s plantation area in Kalabakan, Tawau, Kapur Estate is distinguished by its remote location and challenging operating conditions. With oil palm planted progressively between 2010 to 2012, it has the smallest planted area among BWSB’s estates, covering approximately 1,308.09 hectares within a total surveyed area of 3,176.84 hectares.
Ramin Estate
Located in the north-western part of BWSB’s plantation area in Kalabakan, Tawau, Ramin Estate covers a total surveyed area of approximately 4,316.46 hectares, with 1,366.20 hectares planted with oil palm. Its oil palm development was undertaken progressively between 2009 and 2010, making it part of BWSB’s established plantation landscape in the Northern Region.
Selangan Batu Estate
Located on the western side of BWSB’s plantation area in Kalabakan, Tawau, Selangan Batu Estate is one of BWSB’s earliest-established estates, originally developed from previously undeveloped forestland. The estate covers approximately 3,529.49 hectares, with 1,976.88 hectares planted with oil palm progressively between 2006 and 2012.
Binuang Estate
Located at the heart of BWSB’s Northern Region in Kalabakan, Tawau, Binuang Estate serves as the central operational hub and houses the Northern Region Operational Office. Strategically positioned among Belian, Agathis, Selangan Batu, Ramin and Kapur Estates, it supports coordination across the surrounding northern estates.
Binuang Estate covers approximately 4,113.79 hectares, of which 2,424.70 hectares are planted with oil palm established progressively between 2007 and 2013.
Menggaris Estate
Located on the eastern side of BWSB’s Southern Region in Kalabakan, Tawau, Menggaris Estate is one of BWSB’s earliest estates developed for oil palm cultivation. It covers a total surveyed area of approximately 3,752.78 hectares, of which 2,523.75 hectares are planted with oil palm.
The estate was developed across two planting phases—2005 to 2008 and 2012 to 2013—reflecting its longstanding contribution to BWSB’s plantation operations.
Merbau Estate
Located in the south-eastern part of BWSB’s plantation area in Kalabakan, Tawau, Merbau Estate is situated adjacent to the Seraya Palm Oil Mill (SPOM). The estate covers approximately 3,694.14 hectares, with 1,951.52 hectares planted with oil palm. Its planting profile spans 2006 to 2007, 2009 and 2011, reflecting its development across several planting phases.
Keruing Estate
Situated at the southernmost part of BWSB’s plantation area in Kalabakan, Tawau, Keruing Estate is the estate located nearest to Tawau town, providing a strategic connection to the district’s key services and facilities. It covers approximately 3,672.68 hectares, with 2,011.03 hectares planted with oil palm between 2008 and 2009.
Seraya Estate
Positioned at the heart of BWSB’s Southern Region in Kalabakan, Tawau, Seraya Estate serves as the region’s principal operational hub. Its strategic location near the Seraya Palm Oil Mill (SPOM) supports effective coordination between plantation and milling operations.
The estate spans approximately 3,593.42 hectares, of which 2,359.71 hectares are planted with oil palm established between 2006 and 2008.
Gaharu Estate
Located in the south-western part of BWSB’s Southern Region in Kalabakan, Tawau, Gaharu Estate is strategically positioned between Seraya Estate and Belian Estate. The estate covers a total surveyed area of approximately 3,35.62 hectares, with 1,940.90 hectares planted with oil palm between 2006 and 2008.
