On 13 May 2026, a wild female elephant was successfully fitted with a satellite tracking collar in the Belian/Agathis Estate area, as part of ongoing efforts to monitor elephant movements and mitigate human-elephant conflict.
The elephant was named GEMINCAU, bringing the total number of elephants fitted with satellite tracking collars within the Benta Wawasan area to four (4).
The operation, which took place from 11 to 15 May 2026, was made possible through close collaboration between:

The collaring operation was successfully completed without any incidents. Signals transmitted by the satellite collar are now being monitored by WWF-Malaysia, enabling the elephant’s movement data to be analysed for long-term monitoring and to further strengthen wildlife conservation efforts.
