Benta Wawasan Sdn. Bhd. marked an important milestone with the launch of its Integrated Management System (IMS), followed by a three-day Awareness Training programme. The programme was attended by 55 officers, comprising members of the Management Team, Senior Managers, Managers, Assistant Managers and Executives from the Plantation and Mill Divisions, as well as supporting Divisions and Departments. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening governance, improving operational performance and ensuring long-term sustainability.
The launch, officiated by the Chief Executive Officer, YBhg. Datuk Hj Abdul Karim Hj Abdul Wahid, who also personally initiated the IMS initiative, is particularly significant as Benta Wawasan celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026 and its recent achievement of the BrandLaureate Award 2025/2026 for Fast Moving Growth & Sustainable in Oil Palm & Agricultural Solutions. These milestones underscore the company’s continued growth and strong reputation within the Yayasan Sabah Group.
Immediately following the launch ceremony, a three-day Awareness Training programme was conducted for members of the management team and process owners. The training focused on building a clear understanding of the IMS framework, the principles of each standard and the roles and responsibilities required for effective implementation. The programme included interactive sessions and discussions on integrity and compliance, aimed at embedding a shared culture of quality, safety and sustainability within the organisation.
The Integrated Management System integrates four internationally recognised standards: ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management, ISO 37001:2025 for Anti-Bribery Management, ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health & Safety, and ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management. Together, these standards form a comprehensive framework to ensure that the company’s operations are conducted with consistency, integrity, safety and environmental responsibility.
The IMS implementation initiative in the company will continue over a structured nine-month period, supported by Think Big Management Consultant Sdn. Bhd., and will progress through phases of awareness and system development, operational implementation, and evaluation leading to certification readiness.
